UnitedService Companies names Kristin Marano as new vice president of finance

July 31, 2015 at 1:10 PM

Effective immediately, Kristin Marano is promoted to the position of vice president for Chicago-Based UnitedService Companies, a leading provider of cleaning, staffing and security services in a variety of industries including conventions, hotels, hospitals and aviation.

In her new role, Marano will act as the single point of contact for operational and financial information companywide and their external financial and insurance partners. She will also continue to manage the cash reporting, budget compilation and monitor the regional financial performance of the five divisions that comprise UnitedService Companies; a company that has locations from the District of Columbia to Hawaii.

“It’s my pleasure to promote Kristin. This promotion reflects her strong work ethic and her continued growth as leader at our company,” said Richard "Rick" Simon, president and CEO of UnitedService Companies. “Kristin’s keen ability to communicate with our business unit leaders, vendors, agents and other key financial partners helps make us easy to do business with—a key component in giving us a competitive edge.”

UnitedService Companies believes in recruiting and training the industry’s most talented and dedicated people. Then, they train their teams to meet their high standards of customer service. Marano is a great example of this philosophy. Nine years ago, she started as an accounts payable clerk and worked her way up to her most recent role of controller. In her previous roles, she helped oversee the implementation of the Oracle system and trained others on changes to complex internal financial processes.

Kristin Marano is a certified public accountant and graduated with honors from DePaul University, College of Commerce. She is also a member of the Illinois CPA Society and recently served on the Illinois CPA Society’s Women’s Initiatives Task Force.
