Chicago-based United Service Companies welcomes Robert “Bob” Tracy as senior vice president of United Security Services, Inc.

United Service Companies, a leading provider of cleaning, staffing, and security solutions for a wide variety of industries, is pleased to announce that distinguished law
enforcement veteran Robert “Bob” Tracy has joined its security group, United Security Services, Inc. as a senior vice president. Tracy will provide security consulting services on behalf of the company, assist in its growth and development, and direct its global efforts.

Robert_J._Tracy_4555.jpgTracy has held numerous high-ranking positions in both law enforcement agencies and corporate security. For instance, Tracy held several command positions with the New York Police Department like commanding officer of the NYPD/U.S. Marshall of the Regional Fugitive Task Force. In that role, he led a specialized joint task force comprised of NYPD personnel and more than 50 federal, state, and local agencies in the apprehension of wanted fugitives. Tracy also worked as the vice president and global crisis manager for the Office of Business Continuity for Citigroup, where he coordinated its global crisis management efforts.

Most recently, Tracy served as a Chief of Police overseeing the Office of Crime Control Strategies for the Chicago Police Department. Tracy broke new ground within the CPD by bringing the internationally acclaimed CompStat process to Chicago. From 2011 to 2015, he oversaw the CompStat process and implemented strategies and initiatives that reduced overall crime by 37 percent and helped make significant strides in reducing Chicago’s murder rate.

Considered an expert in his field, Tracy is a highly sought-after speaker on both national and international platforms. He has spoken on many topics, including procedural justice and policing, and gang violence reduction strategies at prestigious locations like New Scotland Yard, London, the Harvard Kennedy School, and Loyola University’s Corboy Law Center.

“Our continued ability to recruit top talent is paramount as we experience unprecedented growth in our security services business,” said Richard “Rick” Simon, president and CEO of United Service Companies. “Bob Tracy’s proven ability to lead and deliver results in both the law enforcement and private security sectors made him a natural choice for the company, especially as we ramp up our next generation of security services.”

Tracy has been awarded numerous commendations, including the New York City Police Foundation’s Dale Hemmerdinger Award of Excellence for distinguished public service. Outside of extensive professional training at prestigious schools like Cornell University and the Wharton Business School, Tracy holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Marist College and a Bachelor of Arts in History from SUNY Empire State College. He and his wife Brenda have chosen to continue to reside in Chicago with their five children.

“Working with United presents me with the opportunity to partner up with an outstanding team of security professionals and continue to safeguard people and businesses not only nationally but on a global level,” explained Tracy. “And, just as important, United is headquartered in Chicago, a city that has become home to my family and to me. We are thriving here, and I am happy to stay.”
