C20-C-STX Cooling Water Treatment Solid-Concentrate
Start-up/Catch-up Sticks
Download in MS Word Format
Description
Packaged in a water soluble bag, designed to treat open cooling tower water systems when first started up in order to obtain an adequate amount of inhibitor at system start-up. Also a good catch up solution to systems that have lost water or where the inhibitor feed has been absent for a period. For small systems where metering inhibitor into the system is not practical. Solid-Concentrate C20-C-STX is a proprietary water treatment for conditions that utilizes the very latest anti-scaling, anti-fouling, & corrosion inhibition technology. Scale, dispersing & corrosion inhibitors working with conventional chemistry provide protection at low product feed rates (refer to laboratory scaling study). Contains PBTC phosphonate, HEDP phosphonate, polymaleic acid, Ter-polymer, HPA, triazole

Application/Feedrate
C20-C-STX can be used in tower water systems that contain up to 1200 PPM calcium /400 PPM alkalinity and /or 1000 PPM calcium/1000ppm alkalinity utilizing the below-listed feed rates (supported by the Buckman Lab Study dated 9/5/00)

WATER QUALITY FEED RATE PHOSPHONATE
500 PPM calcium, 200 PPM alkalinity 10 - 25 PPM 2 - 5 PPM
1000 PPM calcium, 1000 PPM alkalinity 20 - 40 PPM 4 - 8 PPM
1200 PPM calcium, 400 PPM alkalinity 50 PPM 11 PPM
* each bag & contents, when added to 1,000 gallons of system volume will yield 100ppm of product

Testing & Control
Hach, Taylor & other organophosphonate test kits. (see your service rep for details)

Feeding
When dosed into system, attempt to find a high flow area in the sump of the cooling tower or inside make-up tank that is accessible. Dissolving rates will vary depending upon water composition, temperature, and flow rate.

Packaging/Storage/Handling
Packaged in 30 x 0.8 lb water-soluble bags (each enclosed in a corrugated container) per case. Case weighs 24 lbs. Follow MSDS. Properly stored product will remain effective 24 - 36 months. Store in cool, dry area.
